One of my favorite artists working with sound today is Zimoun, whose first solo exhibition in New York is now on display at bitforms gallery. His site-specific installation is a four-walled grid of cardboard boxes outfitted with DC motors. Each of the hundreds of machines have slight variations that create a playful concert from their repetitive gestures.
